L’Espluga Calba is a municipality in Les Garrigues, in the high sector of the region, at an altitude of 434 meters, on the western slope of the Sierra del Tallat.
The orography of the land is very varied, from elevations of stony earth to valleys where olive trees – some centenarians, almond trees, cereals and vineyards are cultivated. Here, in the shallow abysses and sunny dry stone terraces, olive trees grow majestically and surrounded by aromatic plants such as rosemary, lavender, thyme and an incredible variety of native flora characteristic of the intersection of the Mediterranean climate with the continental. The soil has a high mineral content that nourishes the trees and gives body to the fruits.
Spelunca Premium, made in the traditional way and in a production system integrated by Agrària Espluguense, S.C.C.L, is a limited edition -and numbered- of only 2,000 bottles that is obtained from a selection of the best Arbequina olives collected by hand in their optimum time of maturation and ground with the utmost care.
With the seal of the PDO Les Garrigues, which guarantees and certifies that the product has passed all quality controls, this AOVE of intense fruity, greenish hue and powerful connotations of freshly cut grass and green almond -and a wild touch in Mediterranean forest- is presented in dark glass of 500 ml. to preserve its properties.
The Latipo studio was in charge of creating the brand, corporate identity and packaging, opting for a sober and austere design, inspired by the work of the people who make up the cooperative. In the case of Spelunca Premium, the real jewel in the crown, a gold screen printing was developed on the same packaging and on the back each unit is numbered by hand, at the same time as a slender case that looks like a bar gold protects its precious content.
